Hummingbird: tireless joy and the nectar of life.
I think this is valuable to be mindful of no matter what your totem animal is. That being said, we do have more than one totem animal. Like other types of guides, they come and go. Some are with us from birth to death, others pop in to help with a specific challenge or path we choose, others still will walk at our sides for a period of time to guide us, and then there are the shadow totems: perhaps the most potent, these creatures are the ones we may fear or loathe: they will reveal our fears, insecurities, anxieties. But if we can embrace them and what they teach, we integrate our own shadow and that's where our real power lies.

On this day of thinning veils allow me to bring to your attention your spirit animal(s). Animals have walked, flown and swum alongside humans for our entire history on this planet. They are our four-legged, scaled and winged brothers and sisters. And if we're open to it, we can learn many things from them. In ancient cultures the world over it was believed (known?) that the boundaries between human and animal forms were not as established as they are now. Shapeshifting was a common practice among shamans for journeying into alternate reality for healing, soul retrieval or gathering power. Additionally, dreamwork was and still is a way to connect to animal essences and energies beyond our everyday existence. Robert Moss, a well-known author and developer of Conscious Dreaming, a synthesis of shamanism and dreamwork (awesome stuff!! I highly recommend his work), even says that if you are encountering a frightening animal repeatedly in your dreams it is most likely a power animal stalking you, trying to get your attention. Ideas such as these may seem silly and quaint in modern times but they still contain immense sources of power and healing if we acknowledge, honor and work with them.
I've been an animal lover since before I could walk. We always had animals in our home, I've had numerous jobs working with animals and I was constantly bringing home baby birds and orphaned creatures of all persuasions so of course it's a natural progression to create animal jewelry. Recently I designed the Spirit Animal series, a group of 13 animal totem necklaces dripping with stones and other dangles. Each is one of a kind.
Available creatures: horse, bear, wolf, bat, cat, hummingbird, dragonfly, snake, spider, hawk/eagle, raven, owl, deer. Would you like your own bespoke totem necklace of a creature not listed here? Please contact me! I'd love to create one just for you!
Snakes and spiders are crawling through my dreams quite often. What animals are stalking you?
