If you’re familiar with the term but don’t have a thorough understanding of what shadow work is, it can definitely be intimidating. Perhaps visions of slowly descending into madness come to mind; or maybe a scenario that’s a little less dramatic but no more fun: of being so fearful of living life that you turn into a hermit. And initially, the prospect of going deep into your unconscious might be slightly off-putting. It isn’t an easy thing- looking at the parts of yourself that are not-so-pretty.
In actuality though, the results of consciously working with your shadow can be life-changing. You can: *experience more profound self-love *have a broader understanding of why you do what you do Working with the unconscious in a conscious (ha! see what I did there?) way is extremely empowering. The root cause of the painful issue is brought to light. It is transmuted and integrated, and you become more of who you really are, which is a shining, powerful creator. Is it time to embrace your shadow? “Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.” Carl Jung Shine on, Sara
